Additionally, he has worked as a Senior House Officer and Registrar in Surgery at Bedford General Hospital in the UK. He has also served as an examiner and an international clinical tutor for the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England.
He returned to India in 1994 and has since been one of the most sought-after bariatric and minimal-access surgeons.
Dr. Sharma is keenly interested in medical writing and has published numerous research articles.
The doctor is an associate editor of the Indian Journal of Surgery (IJS) and has drafted a Basic Medical Writing Course for surgeons interested in research and development.
He has also created a hernia training course called Hernia Essentials, which is based on international guidelines for treating hernia.
