About Dr. C Vijay Bose

Dr. C. Vijay Bose is an orthopedic surgeon with over 36 years of clinical experience.
His areas of expertise are arthroplasty, hip resurfacing surgery, and partial knee replacements.
Procedures such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair, hip replacement, hip arthroscopy, shoulder fracture and dislocation, and shoulder arthroscopy are part of his skill set.
He has performed over 2300 hip resurfacing surgeries throughout his career.
Dr. Bose completed his MBBS at the University of Madras in 1989 and his MS in Orthopedics at the University of Mangalore in 1992.
In 1994, he obtained his DNB in Orthopedics from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.
To continue his education, he went to the United Kingdom, earning his Master’s in Medical Sciences (MMedSci) in Trauma at the University of Birmingham in 1997 and an MCh in Orthopedics from the University of Liverpool in 1998.
He holds a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), which he obtained in 2000.
His remarkable performance in orthopedic surgery won him a gold medal from the Madras Medical College.
For his contributions to the field of orthopedic surgery, he has won several awards.
Dr. Bose played a significant role in developing the Birmingham Mid Head Resection (BHMR) prosthesis for patients with avascular necrosis.
He was instrumental in introducing the Deltamotion hip in Asia.
Dr. Bose is a prolific researcher and has published articles in well-known journals such as the Journal of Hand Surgery and the Indian Journal of Orthopaedics.
His professional memberships include esteemed organizations such as the American Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons (ISHKS).
