Dr. Chitralekha De is a distinguished Ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience.
Her expertise lies in the surgical and medical management of retinal diseases, including micro-incision vitrectomy surgery (MIVS), scleral buckling (SB) surgery, pan-retinal photocoagulation (PRP) laser, retinal barrage laser, and macular laser.
She is well-versed in managing retinopathy of prematurity, administering intravitreal injections, and non-surgically managing various retinal conditions.
She completed her MBBS and MS in Ophthalmology from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Guwahati, in 2004 and 2009, respectively.
Dr. Chitralekha De completed a Surgical Fellowship in Retinal Surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, gaining expertise in microsurgery and laser treatments for conditions like diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, retinal tears, and age-related macular degeneration.
From 2012 to 2017, she led key initiatives, including the diabetic retinopathy project with the World Diabetes Foundation and PHFI and the retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) outreach program, in Bengaluru.
She is a member of the Assam Medical Council.
