About Dr. K Sridhar

Dr. K. Sridhar is a plastic surgeon with over 51 years of experience in healthcare.
His areas of expertise are hand reconstruction, microvascular and craniofacial surgery, and peripheral nerve surgery.
Dr. Sridhar completed his MBBS at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in 1973 followed by an MCh in Plastic Surgery at Stanley Medical College and Hospital, Chennai in 1980.
For further education, he obtained training in microsurgery from the National University of Singapore.
Widely regarded as a pioneer in the field of plastic surgery, he is largely responsible for eliminating correctable deformities in Erode, Tamil Nadu.
In 2005, he developed a proforma for the epidemiological survey of visible birth defects, which was adapted by the Government of Tamil Nadu. This has led to the formation of a permanent birth defect registry in the state.
Dr. Sridhar is a dynamic innovator and has developed techniques such as ‘Extensor Proprius Four Tails Procedure’ and ‘Modified Temporalis Transfer for Lagophthalmos.’
A highly sought-after speaker, he has been invited to deliver orations all over India and abroad.
For his contributions to the field of plastic surgery, he has won several awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Sridhar actively participates in national and international conferences such as IPRAS and APSICON.
His research prowess is evident in the many publications to his name in well-known journals such as the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery.
His professional memberships include reputed organizations such as the Indian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (ISRM) and the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI).
