Dr. M. Ram Prabahar is a nephrologist with over 27 years of clinical experience.
His experience includes conducting over 200 kidney transplantations, including high-risk cases such as highly sensitized patients, ABO-incompatible transplants, second transplants, and transplants in pediatric patients.
His expertise lies in procedures such as online hemodiafiltration, continuous renal replacement therapy, critical care nephrology, and treatment of acute kidney injury.
Dr. Prabahar completed his MBBS at Tirunelveli Medical College, Tamil Nadu in 1997.
Then, he obtained his MD (General Medicine) in 2002 and his DM (Nephrology) in 2006 from Madras Medical College.
To gain further expertise, he earned DNBs in General Medicine and Nephrology from the National Board of Examination, New Delhi, in 2004 and 2008, respectively.
A pioneer in nephrology, he has won several awards for his contributions, including the ‘Nallore Virudhu Award’ for outstanding medical service.
Dr. Prabahar is actively involved in academics and was instrumental in introducing the DNB (Nephrology), B.Sc (Renal Sciences), and M.Sc (Renal Sciences) training programs at the SRM Institute of Medical Sciences.
As an avid researcher, he has published numerous articles in renowned journals such as Hemodialysis International and the Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation.
