About Dr. Preetha Joshi

Dr. Preetha Joshi is a renowned Pediatrician and Neonatologist with over 27 years of experience.
She specializes in neonatal, pediatric, and cardiac intensive care, the management and treatment of preterm babies, high-frequency ventilation and the use of nitric oxide, postoperative cardiac critical care, and postoperative liver, kidney, lung, and heart transplant care.
Dr. Joshi is experienced in procedures such as ventricular assist devices, peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
She has extensive experience with complex surgical cases, including congenital diaphragmatic hernia, intestinal atresia, hydronephrosis, and congenital hydrocephalus.
She has seven years of international experience in Australia and Canada.
In the past few years, Dr. Joshi has successfully treated over 2,400 critically sick newborns, with a mortality rate below 2.5%, and over 3,000 post-cardiac surgery patients, with a success rate of 97%.
She also oversees postoperative care for cardiac surgery patients in the pediatric cardiac ICU, handling approximately 500 cases annually.
The remarkable achievement of Dr. Joshi includes preterm quintuplets, with four surviving at seven years.
She completed her MBBS and Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the University of Bombay, Mumbai, in 1997 and 2000, respectively.
She also holds a Fellowship of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (FCPS) and a DNB in Pediatrics from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi,
Dr. Joshi has received Fellowships in Neonatology from Royal North Shore Hospital (Australia), Royal Hospital for Women (Australia), and McMaster University (Canada).
She has also earned Fellowships in Pediatric Intensive Care from the University of Sydney, Australia, and the University of Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Joshi has published chapters in several pediatric, neonatal intensive care, anesthesia, and nursing textbooks.
Her articles have been published in over 15 reputed national and international journals.
She is constantly involved in research and development and has presented her work at more than 20 national and international conferences.
Dr. Joshi trains students pursuing a Neonatology Fellowship from the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
She is a member of various prestigious societies and associations, such as the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, the ECMO Society of India, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
