Dr. Shailendra Lalwani is a reputed Gastroenterology surgeon with over 23 years of experience in providing healthcare in the field of liver transplantation.
He has performed rare liver transplant procedures like combined kidney-liver transplantation and dual lobe liver transplant, i.e., liver retrieved from 2 donors.
Further, he also did a liver transplant surgery for the smallest child in India, weighing 4.5 kg.
He has also worked on cosmetic donor surgery, has assisted in laparoscopic donor hepatectomy, and has performed Small Incision Donor Hepatectomy.
He has performed over 1000+ liver transplant surgeries that were completed, including:
- Open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery for liver resection
- Gastro-duodenal surgeries
- Esophagectomies

Also, he has delivered lectures on Biliary and vascular anatomy with pitfalls and variations, the management of hepatic colorectal metastasis- an evidence-based algorithm, Porto-mesenteric venous thrombosis- an often-missed diagnosis, and more.
Dr. Lalwani is also a member of some of the most professional medical associations. Some of them include the National Academy of Medical Sciences, the Liver Transplant Society of India, the Association of Surgeons of India, and more.
