About Dr. Vivek Vij

• Dr. Vivek Vij is a renowned Surgical Gastroenterologist and Liver Transplant Surgeon with over 26 years of experience.
• He is recognized as one of the leading liver transplant surgeons in India and is the founder of the Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Sciences department at Fortis Hospitals.
• He and his team have collectively performed over 4,000 liver transplants, achieving a 97% patient success rate and a 100% donor success rate.
• He is the youngest liver transplant surgeon in India to have completed 800 independent liver transplants, with the lowest biliary complication rate.
• Dr. Vij was the first liver surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to publish a series on laparoscopic donor hepatectomy in the Liver Transplantation Journal.
• His educational qualifications include an MBBS from B.J. Medical College, Pune, in 1998 and an MS in General Surgery from the Govt. Medical College & Rajendra Hospital in 2001.
